Hey Renee,
This blog talks about introducing the two pups orphaned by rabies back into the wild. how do you accomplish this with painted dogs?

Actually, the Gippsland Giant Earthworm can grow to around 4 metres, and it is just the largest of the giant earthworms. In many other parts of Australia there are large worms which can grow to more than 1 metre. The most interesting is the beautiful blue earthworm from tropical Queensland. It is a beautiful electric blue colour (and its slime glows in the dark!!). It grows to around 1 metre. See it here: http://scienceblogs.com/zooillogix/2008/05/giant_blue_earthworms_and_frie.php

Very funny! You should write a column for the Zoo magazine. Love the comment about the extra 5 lbs. That's were all us girls at the office laughed. We would rather go down with the plane than admit how much we weigh! Seriously, the information on LightHawk was enlightening and I have passed it on to some of my pilot friends that own planes.

Thank you for contributing to this effort, and for this blog post, which is both informative and entertaining. And I am very glad to know your pilot, Randy, got you back on the ground alive. (Had I been his co-pilot, I am sure the story would have turned out differently. So I will have to find ways to help that don't involve any kind of airplane, large or small.)

I never thought of it that way, that conservation can use our energy and talents in some way no matter what else we do. This was a delight to read! Looking forward to more of your posts. Thank you for doing this important work!

I love this! I started thinking, "I wish I knew the person who wrote this," and then, "This sounds exactly like Rachael Rommel!" Would've saved me a good bit of time to simply look at who authored it. Great work, both with the article and the conservation efforts!
