Thank you SO much for putting up this post about Dale! He is one of my FAVORITE zoo volunteers! I worked Camp Zoofari this summer and Dale was everywhere! If my kids had a question that I didn't know the answer to, we could ask Mr. Dale and 9 times out of 10 he knew their answer, or something even more interesting!

He was always around with camera ready to snap a photo and actually took one of my favorites from the whole summer of my kids!

He is the best volunteer HZI could EVER hope to have, and I can not wait til next summer when I get to see him again!!

I love you, Houston Zoo!! Thanks for making my life better, animal by animal, person by person, in so many ways!

I am always jealous when I learn there are people who can wait for a baby animal to be born. I have been to that zoo and seen baby giraffes and a young elephant in training. But this man has put his time to such great use, and for everyone who ever noted and documented reptile activities, their efforts are not part of a library of information thanks to that man.

thanks for this story, it is, btw, very well written.

What a great idea to highlight the many volunteers that help make the zoo such a fun place. It is inspiring to see what efforts are given in ways that may not ever be noticed in a simple visit to the zoo. Great job!
